Neighborhood Celebration: Check out King Middle School

King Middle School hopes to make a splash at the upcoming Neighborhood Celebration this Saturday (Oct. 2), and yes, we’d love to have them bring their newly renovated, reopened and reinvigorating pool — the only one of its kind in the district. King Middle serves a pivotal role in the south Atlanta area as one of the feeder schools to Maynard H. Jackson High School (this year’s host site for the Celebration).

King Middle School students get back in the pool

Atlanta Public Schools’ lone swimming pool, at King Middle School, has reopened and has been offering students as a chance to learn valuable swimming skills. These skills, which range from something as basic and crucial as drowning prevention to health and wellness, were captured in this informative video produced by APS Media Production Manager Scott King and narrated by Director of Media Relations Keith Bromery.
