Washington Early College Valedictorian Liza Wemakor Strives to be a Better Version of Herself

Liza Wemakor’s experience at Washington Early College has marked the most transformative phase of her life. She has been afire with ambition, encountering wonderful friends and faculty members who have encouraged her to overcome her timidity in pursuit of her dreams. In addition to the many influential people at Washington Early College, Liza thanks her family and her mentors for their never-ending support.

She has received acceptance letters from several schools, including Emory University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Bard College, Brandeis University, Northwestern University and Stony Brook University. The recipient of over one million dollars in scholarship offers, Liza has chosen to attend Dartmouth College in the fall and  major in English and Creative Writing. Her career goal is to become an English Professor and Writer.

The graduation ceremony for Booker T. Washington is Saturday, May 24 at 12 p.m. All APS commencement exercises will be available for online viewing via live stream by visiting http://atlantapublicschools.us/graduation2014 and clicking on a specific school.
